ABOUT
Ben Wong
Hi everyone! I have been teaching students of all levels from beginner to advanced including professional musicians for 16 years now. I focus on teaching students to be well rounded, understanding theory, strong sight reading, and building proper technique that will allow students to advance quicker and learn music with ease.

Growing up in the Tri-Cities area, and have placed in many local festivals including the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival and the BCCM Music Festival. I am also raised on the RCM system which I strongly recommend. I went to school for music at Capilano University majoring in piano with a minor in voice. I also participated in a local concerto competition, performing a movement of the Chopin's Piano Concerto Op.11. In 2016, I adjudicated for the Casio local youth piano competition which was filmed and aired on China television.

Learn music with a proven system, the Royal Conservatory of Music. RCM developed a curriculum that teaches students to become well rounded, involving improving skills such as sight reading, ear training, and learning music of different styles from Baroque to modern!
EXPERIENCE
Just like going to school for a degree, we need to use what we learned to find a job and make use of our knowledge. This is where experience comes. In piano, we gain experience from exams, festivals, competitions, and other performance opportunities. If performance anxiety is a concern, not to worry, as I can guide you to overcome the challenges!
